Forty-seven percent of older Americans still haven’t joined the digital age and of all the people most likely to benefit from the technological age it’s seniors.  From a health perspective, digital access can help make seniors an integral part of their own health care, from being able to access medical records and physicians, becoming actively informed about their own health conditions, prescriptions and treatment or simply staying socially connected.  Getting connected will also help reduce national health care costs.  How do you start getting a senior in your life connected?  The National Institute on Aging, National Network of Libraries of Medicine, and local organizations and agencies such as libraries, senior centers, senior residences are some of the first places to start.  This article provides more arguments for why seniors need to get connected.
