Dieting doesn't matter if you're over 75

If you’re over 75 you can quit fretting about your excess weight.

That’s the report anyway from some researchers at Penn State and Geisinger Healthcare System.  It’s a bit hard to take them seriously as the report describes people 75 or older as being of “advanced age” but if the whippersnappers are right eating diets high in sugar and fat may not affect the outcomes of individuals within a breath of death’s door.  All joking aside, the report suggests that the move from “frail” to obese may be beneficial in older individuals if they manage to live to that age.  Keep in mind that there are plenty of studies to indicate that high intakes of sugar and fats can be detrimental to your health and there is a big difference between living longer and living longer, better.  Here’s the report.
